- Done by sweating, to cool the body down
- The flow of blood is directed to the surface of the skin to increase the amount of heat lost due to conduction. This is called Vasodilatation
- When temperate decreases
- The body shivers
- Blood is kept away from the skin to reduce heat loss, called vasoconstriction
